Jon Beck, Founder & CEO
A twenty-two-year industry veteran, Jon brings a wealth of executive-level experience—both domestic and international—that has enabled him to transform and bring profitability to both startups and large company business units alike.
He has managed zero to multimillion-dollar growth; built and led teams in sales, marketing, product, systems engineering, and operations, directed and supported product launches and go-to-market strategies for field operations and market expansions across the globe.
Prior to joining Ursus, Jon was Senior Vice President of Field Operations for Embrane Inc., where he led the venture-backed startup field operations effort until the company was acquired by Cisco in May 2015.
Before Embrane, Jon managed global sales and field operations for the Cloud Business Unit at Dimension Data, the world’s largest Cisco reseller. He joined Dimension Data, by way of OpSource, a leading provider of cloud and managed hosting services catering to SaaS providers.
Jon, joined OpSource by way of Panterra Networks, an early entrant VoIP and messaging company where he held the position of Chief Operating Officer, responsible for all day to day operations including data center operations, marketing, sales, and field support in the US and Europe.
Jon has been recognized multiple times by CRN magazine as one the leading channel executives, or “Channel Chiefs”, and was selected by the SIIA as Council Chair for the SIIA Software Division Sales & Services group.
Jon earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from the University of California, Berkeley, where he was recognized as a three-time rugby All-American and part of two National Collegiate Rugby Champion teams.
Cheryle Peikert, CFO
Cheryle Peikert is responsible for financial reporting and analysis, controllership, internal audit and controls, financial processes, tax, and treasury.
Cheryle brings more than 25 years of global financial management experience to Ursus. Before joining Ursus in 2015, she served as Controller at Bear Data Solutions where she shared responsibility for all facets of the organization’s financial strategy, planning, management, operations, and accounting.
Prior to Bear Data, Cheryle started as the first accountant and soon after was promoted to corporate controller at Robbins Scientific, a global manufacturer of biotech supplies and instruments, and helped build the Finance, Human Resources and IT functions within the company.
Apogent Technologies acquired Robbins Scientific where she spent four years as a Division Controller post-acquisition. Cheryle holds a Bachelor of Science degree from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo.
Lance Lennier, Sr. VP Sales
Lance Lennier, Senior Vice President of Sales, brings over 20 years of experience in management, sales and recruiting to Ursus. Lance has demonstrated throughout his career the ability to grow businesses through a team and client-centric approach. He has a deep understanding of recruiting, staffing and how to deliver comprehensive solutions and services. His primary areas of expertise are account management, business development, and global delivery operations.
Prior to Ursus, Lance spent nearly half of his career in senior management roles for a large publicly traded Information Technology and Engineering Services staffing company. His recent experience includes executive leadership positions managing both on-shore and off-shore teams supporting Fortune 1000 and emerging growth clients. Lance was involved with the Project Management Institute (PMI) for several years and maintained his Project Management Certification at that time. Lance is also a past member of the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA), the Helpdesk Institute (HDI), and the Society of Information Management (SIM).
Lance believes his business philosophies were established early on in life. As a former multi-sport athlete that competed collegiately, he believes that success in any endeavor is a team effort – for a company and an individual. Lance has a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies with an emphasis in Business from Sonoma State University.
